Working Principle of the Flame-Free Explosion Venting Device for Dust Collectors in Rubber Factories:
The flame-free venting device comprises two components—an explosion venting panel and a flame extinguishing module. The explosion venting panel responds rapidly to rising deflagration pressure, opening immediately to reduce pressure. As the expanding fireball passes through the open venting panel, it is intercepted by the flame extinguishing module. The stainless steel precision mesh, supported by a frame, acts as a three-dimensional flame trap, extinguishing the flame and preventing propagation, thereby avoiding secondary or multiple explosions. The flame extinguishing module eliminates deflagration flames, reduces the temperature of hot gases, and captures both burning and unburned dust passing through the open venting panel.
Simultaneously, pressure waves or noise generated by production equipment are minimized. When flames pass through the mesh flame arrestor, heat exchange occurs between the arrestor and the flames, rapidly cooling the high-temperature flames, venting pressure and smoke, while also reducing pressure waves or noise from production equipment.

However, such installations on indoor equipment are not permitted by safety regulations due to risks to surrounding personnel and equipment, as pressure waves and flames from explosions could trigger secondary or multiple explosions. Therefore, relying solely on explosion venting panels for dust collectors is unreliable. We recommend using flame-free venting + isolation technology (a cost-effective solution) or suppression + isolation technology to ensure production safety.
There are three main methods for dust explosion protection: venting, isolation, and suppression.
Venting: Releases explosion pressure in advance through a pressure relief device to protect equipment from damage.
Isolation: Prevents flame propagation by using an isolation valve to block the explosion.
