Benefits of Using Triple-Start Threaded Tubes in Heat Exchange Equipment:
(1) Simultaneous enhancement of heat transfer inside and outside the tube;
(2) Fast processing speed, excellent results, and low cost;
(3) Wide applicability: enhances heat transfer for evaporation, condensation, gaseous flow heat transfer, and liquid flow heat transfer both inside and outside the tube;
(4) Self-adjusting capability with thermal expansion and contraction;
(5) Reduced scale formation.
I. Product Introduction:
Since Luwsun et al. from the United States published the first academic report on threaded tubes in 1966, threaded tubes have garnered significant attention as high-efficiency heat exchange components. They are now increasingly widely used in China. Threaded tubes are heat-conducting tubes with internal convex and external concave spiral shapes, manufactured by cold-rolling ordinary smooth tubes. They are suitable for use as heat exchange tubes in equipment such as boilers, condensers, low-pressure heaters, oil coolers, and air coolers.
II. Advantages:
1. Application in boilers: After optimization for heat exchange and flow resistance, the heat transfer capacity of one threaded tube is equivalent to 1.7–1.8 ordinary steel tubes of the same size. This not only significantly reduces the number of steel tubes required but also allows for a smaller boiler shell diameter. As a result, steel consumption for pressure components is markedly reduced, saving materials and lowering costs.
2. Application in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry: Compared to ordinary smooth tubes, threaded tubes offer 1.5–2.0 times the heat transfer surface area, greatly improving refrigerant flow patterns and enhancing boiling and condensation heat transfer inside the tubes. The refrigerant is propelled in a spiral motion by the internal threads, reducing pressure loss by over 50%. Manufacturing processes such as tube expansion and welding are the same as for ordinary tubes. This enables the miniaturization and lightweighting of air conditioners, saving approximately one-third of the tube weight compared to smooth tubes. Operation is energy-efficient, reducing costs.
3. Application in heat exchange equipment: Steel or stainless steel tubes are formed in one pass through machine rolling. Scale on the surface of threaded tubes forms in a spiral pattern. Temperature changes during equipment operation cause the tubes to expand and contract, enabling the scale to self-detach. In contrast, scale on smooth tubes forms a cylindrical layer with no self-detaching capability. Threaded tubes are now widely used in power plant condensers and boiler auxiliary heat exchange systems, making them an ideal replacement for smooth tubes and copper tubes.
Forming Process:
After cold-rolling steel tubes, the tube dimensions shrink by 0.1% to 0.5%. Factors affecting the shrinkage length include: 1. Thread depth (e); 2. Pitch (s); 3. Thread radius (r). These parameters can be adjusted as needed.
Processing diameter: ∮6mm–89mm; processing thickness: 0.5mm–5mm; adjustable spiral direction, adjustable pitch, adjustable thread depth.
