Methods for Arsenic Removal from Drinking Water:Granular Ferric Hydroxide Arsenic Removal Media
BKsorb Ferric Hydroxide Adsorbent is a highly efficient and environmentally friendly arsenic removal media for drinking water. Its main component is β-FeOOH/Fe(OH)₃, featuring a high specific surface area (approximately 300 m²/g), enabling effective adsorption of both trivalent arsenic (As(III)) and pentavalent arsenic (As(V)). A single filtration can stably reduce arsenic concentration in water to below 0.01 mg/L.
Using BKsorb Granular Ferric Hydroxide Arsenic Removal Media requires no pre-oxidation treatment; it directly adsorbs both trivalent and pentavalent arsenic in water. Its adsorption capacity is 6-14 g/kg (based on As), with an applicable pH range of 5-9 and an optimal adsorption pH of 6.0-7.5. It also exhibits good adsorption effects on various heavy metals (such as vanadium, uranium, lead, etc.).
BKsorb Arsenic Removal Media operates on a pure physico-chemical adsorption principle, requiring no additional chemicals, causing no secondary pollution, and producing no arsenic-containing sludge. It has a long service life (2-5 years).
BKsorb Granular Ferric Hydroxide Adsorbent is simple to operate: just fill it into a filter tank and control the flow rate (10-20 BV/h, i.e., 10-20 m/h) and contact time (3-5 minutes) for operation. Backwashing is required when the pressure drop reaches ≥0.5 bar, with a backwash flow rate of 25-26 m/h.
BKsorb is widely used in drinking water treatment, groundwater arsenic removal, wastewater treatment, aquaculture water purification, and other fields. It has been certified according to DIN EN 15029 and NSF/ANSI 61.
