Simuwu Rectangular Ding
The Simuwu Rectangular Ding is a bronze artifact from the late Shang Dynasty of China, unearthed in Anyang, Henan in 1939. It is the heaviest bronze ritual vessel in the world to date, specially cast by either King Zugeng or Zujia of the Shang Dynasty to honor their mother, Wu. The original artifact stands 133 cm tall, 79 cm wide, and 110 cm long. It is named after the three characters "Simuwu" cast on the inner wall of the ding. It is a representative masterpiece of the bronze culture during the Shang and Zhou periods and is currently housed in the National Museum of China.
