Cold Air Unit for Large Crushers

The cold air unit is an environmentally friendly and energy-saving air-cooling device launched by Baochiyuan Company for industries such as wave soldering machines, spraying, reflow soldering, assembly lines, laboratories, foundries, home appliances, and food. Using air as the medium, it can rapidly cool spaces and products in a short time, making it an ideal industrial refrigeration equipment following air conditioning.

I. Working Principle of the Cold Air Unit for Large Crushers

Based on the principle of the refrigeration system, low-temperature and low-pressure liquid refrigerant undergoes heat exchange with the surrounding air in the evaporator. The evaporator absorbs heat from the air, causing the refrigerant to evaporate into a low-temperature, low-pressure gaseous state. During evaporation, the refrigerant temperature remains unchanged. The low-temperature, low-pressure gaseous refrigerant then enters the compressor, where it is compressed into a high-temperature, high-pressure gaseous state. It then flows into the condenser, where it undergoes heat exchange with the indoor medium. Part of the heat from the high-temperature, high-pressure gaseous refrigerant is absorbed by the medium, raising its temperature. The refrigerant releases heat and condenses into a high-temperature, high-pressure liquid in the condenser, with the temperature remaining constant during this process. It then enters the expansion valve for throttling, which is a rapid cooling process. The refrigerant becomes a low-temperature, low-pressure liquid and re-enters the evaporator for heat exchange and evaporation, completing the refrigeration cycle. This cycle continues continuously, enabling the air to be cooled consistently. The cold air is then blown to the desired cooling area by the fan.

II. Classification of Cold Air Units

By Cooling (Heat Dissipation) Method

A. Water-cooled cold air unit: (Shell and tube type) condenser equipped with a cooling tower for heat dissipation.

B. Air-cooled cold air unit: (Finned type) condenser dissipates heat through the unit's own fan.

Selection of Cold Air Units: Generally, the appropriate water-cooled or air-cooled cold air unit is selected based on the cooling capacity (airflow and temperature).

Features of Air-cooled Units: Named after their heat dissipation method, they include an insulated water tank and pump within the unit, eliminating the need for an additional cooling water tower for heat dissipation. Installation and mobility are very convenient. However, they require good ventilation in the workshop environment; otherwise, the cooling effect may be directly affected.

Features of Water-cooled Units: Water-cooled cold air units require an additional cooling water tower and pump to extract hot water for heat dissipation to achieve effective cooling results.
