MGN is compact and lightweight, making it particularly suitable for use in miniaturized equipment. The slider and rail materials are available in stainless steel and alloy steel. The stainless steel linear guide includes the slider, rail, and other metal components such as steel balls and retainers, all made of stainless steel, offering rust-resistant properties. It adopts a Gothic arch four-point contact design, capable of withstanding loads from all directions, with high rigidity and precision. The steel ball retainer design allows for interchangeability within precision tolerances.
MGW (wide type) features a widened rail design that significantly enhances moment load capacity and can be used as a single axis. The Gothic arch four-point contact design enables it to withstand loads from various directions with high rigidity. The slider is equipped with a micro retainer wire, ensuring that steel balls do not fall out even when the slider is removed. The rail, slider, and all metal components are made of stainless steel, providing corrosion resistance.
Advantages/Features of Linear Guides:
1. High Positioning Accuracy
When using linear guides for linear motion, due to their rolling friction mechanism, the friction coefficient is reduced to 1/50 of that of sliding guides, and the difference between dynamic and static friction is minimal. This prevents slipping during table movement, achieving micron-level positioning accuracy.
2. Minimal Wear, Long-Term Precision Maintenance
Traditional sliding guides inevitably suffer from poor motion accuracy due to oil backlash and insufficient lubrication during movement, leading to wear on the contact surfaces of the motion track and severely affecting precision. In contrast, rolling guides experience very little wear, allowing the machine to maintain precision over extended periods.
3. Suitable for High-Speed Motion and Significant Reduction in Required Drive Power
Due to the very low friction during linear guide movement, only minimal power is needed to move the table. This is especially beneficial for frequently reciprocating motion, significantly reducing the machine's power consumption. Additionally, the low heat generation from friction makes it suitable for high-speed operation.
4. Capable of Simultaneously Withstanding Loads in All Directions
Thanks to the unique constrained structure design of linear guides, they can handle loads from all directions simultaneously. Unlike sliding guides, which have limited capacity for lateral loads in the parallel contact direction and can easily cause poor machine motion accuracy.
5. Easy Assembly and Interchangeability
During assembly, simply mill or grind the mounting surface of the guide rail on the table, and follow the recommended steps to secure the rail and slider with specified torque to achieve high machining precision. Traditional sliding guides require scraping of the motion track, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive. If machine accuracy deteriorates, scraping must be repeated. Linear guides offer interchangeability, allowing separate replacement of sliders, rails, or even the entire linear guide set to restore high-precision guidance.
6. Simple Lubrication Structure
Insufficient lubrication in sliding guides can cause direct metal-to-metal friction, wearing down the table. Adequate lubrication for sliding guides is challenging and requires drilling holes in appropriate locations on the table for oil supply. Linear guides, however, come with oil nozzles on the sliders, allowing direct grease injection via a grease gun or connection to an oil supply line with specialized fittings for automatic lubrication.
