Glass-ceramic

Glass-ceramic (CRYSTOE and NEOPARIES), also known as microcrystalline jade or ceramic glass, is a composite glass and a new type of building material recently developed in China. Its scientific name is glass-ceramic. Glass-ceramic looks quite different from the common glass we are familiar with. It possesses the dual characteristics of both glass and ceramic. The atomic arrangement inside ordinary glass is irregular, which is one of the reasons why glass is fragile. In contrast, glass-ceramic, like ceramics, is composed of crystals, meaning its atomic arrangement is orderly. Therefore, glass-ceramic is brighter than ceramics and tougher than glass.
