It is recommended to use more standardized "National Standard Forged" wire rope clips.

For critical applications, "cast" wire rope clips are not advised:

1. Defects such as blowholes, sand inclusions, porosity, and cracking that occur during general casting cannot be completely avoided.

2. According to the national standard GB/T5976-2006 (Page 7. Technical Requirements), when rope clips are used for lifting machinery, forged rope clips are preferentially recommended (with current manufacturing processes, forging is superior to casting). The use of malleable iron or nodular iron cast iron clip seat wire rope clips, such as KTH, is not recommended.

a Characteristics of cast rope clips: relatively low density and slightly lighter weight. Poor control of the casting process (cast steel) can lead to defects like blowholes and sand inclusions. If it is a gray iron casting, some smaller specifications, such as those below size 18, have experienced fragmentation under manual hammering.
