It is recommended to use more standardized "national standard forged" wire rope clips.

For critical applications, "cast" wire rope clips are not recommended:

1. Defects such as blowholes, sand inclusions, porosity, and cracking that occur during general casting cannot be completely avoided.

2. According to the national standard GB/T5976-2006 (Page 7. Technical Requirements), when rope clips are used for lifting machinery, forged rope clips are preferred (with current manufacturing processes, forging is superior to casting). KTH, nodular iron, and other malleable cast iron clip seat wire rope clips are not recommended.

a Characteristics of cast rope clips: relatively low density and slightly lighter weight. Poor control of the casting process (cast steel) can lead to defects such as blowholes and sand inclusions. If it is gray iron casting, some smaller specifications, such as those below #18, have experienced breakage under manual hammering.
