Release Agent
Release agent is a specialized coating agent designed for mold surfaces. Its function is to form an isolation film between the mold and the cast object, facilitating the easy demolding of cast parts from the mold.
Main Features:
1. Eco-friendly and pollution-free: Compared to traditional solvent-based release agents, release agents offer better environmental performance as they are primarily composed of water, surfactants, lubricants, and other auxiliary ingredients, containing no harmful solvents.
2. Easy to clean: Release agents are easy to clean, reducing the workload and costs associated with cleaning during production.
3. Heat and corrosion resistance: This coating has strong heat and corrosion resistance, protecting the mold surface from wear and corrosion, thereby extending the mold's service life.
4. Non-toxic and odorless: Release agents are harmless to humans and can be used safely.
Precautions for Using Release Agents
1. Dilute with water (dilution ratio 3-10 times as appropriate), and mix evenly. The dilution ratio can also be adjusted according to on-site needs. Diluted solutions should be used up as much as possible in one go.
2. Apply using a spray gun or roller brush. After applying the release agent, wait until the mold is completely dry before pouring concrete.
3. Clean the template or mold surface thoroughly before application.
4. Store under normal temperature conditions, protect from freezing and direct sunlight. After opening, ensure the container is sealed and stored properly.
5. Avoid construction during rainy weather. If rain washes away the freshly applied coating, reapply before proceeding with construction.

The basic formulation of release agents typically includes the following main components:
Base materials: such as paraffin, stearic acid, vegetable oil, emulsified wax liquid, methyl silicone oil emulsion, modified silicone oil emulsion, etc.
Emulsifier: Used to evenly disperse the base materials in water, forming a stable emulsion.
Water: Serves as the carrier, usually constituting the majority of the formulation.
Additives: Such as preservatives, anti-mold agents, etc., used to improve the stability and service life of the release agent.
Specific Formulation Example
Paraffin, stearic acid, vegetable oil, co-emulsifier, potassium hydroxide, etc.
Heat paraffin, stearic acid, co-emulsifier, and auxiliary oil-based raw materials to 60–80°C until melted. Then heat water, alkaline agents, and auxiliary water-based raw materials to 80–90°C. Slowly add the aqueous phase to the oil phase under vigorous stirring, stir until room temperature, and obtain a white oil-in-water emulsion.
Polyurethane Release Agent
The formulation includes emulsified wax liquid 10%–15%, methyl silicone oil emulsion 15%–20%, modified silicone oil emulsion 5%–8%, deionized water 50%–55%, emulsifier 4.5%–6%, additives 0.5%–1%, preservatives 0.3%–0.5%.
Functions and Characteristics of Components

Emulsifier: Helps evenly disperse base materials in water, forming a stable emulsion.
Water: Acts as a diluent, reducing costs while being easy to clean.
Additives: Improve the stability and service life of the release agent.
Characteristics: Release agents exhibit strong adhesion, no residue, water resistance, rust prevention, and other features, making them suitable for demolding molds from silicone rubber, plastic, and other products.
On construction sites, release agents are primarily used to prevent concrete from adhering to formwork, ensuring easy dismantling of the formwork while maintaining a smooth and even concrete surface. Release agents offer excellent isolation properties, significantly reducing the occurrence of bubbles and surface defects, resulting in high surface smoothness, no discoloration, and no pollution. They are an eco-friendly type of release agent.
Release agents are suitable for all cast-in-place concrete walls, columns, beams, slabs, as well as various precast slabs, precast pipes, bridges, and other building components in construction projects. They are mainly used for steel formwork, wood formwork, aluminum formwork, etc., providing protection to the formwork and forming a good curing effect.
Compared to oil-based release agents, release agents offer the following advantages: lower emissions of volatile organic compounds during use, improving the working environment and benefiting workers' health; lower fire risk during storage and use; lower cost, convenient to use, directly diluted with water, reducing raw material and storage costs; lower environmental cost, with fewer organic waste gases generated during use.
