Water-based Release Agent

Water-based release agent is a functional substance that acts between the mold and the finished product. It possesses chemical resistance and is not dissolved when in contact with the chemical components of various resins (especially styrene and amines). Water-based release agents also exhibit heat and stress resistance, making them less prone to decomposition or wear. They adhere to the mold without transferring to the processed part, and do not interfere with spraying or other secondary processing operations. Due to the rapid development of processes such as injection molding, extrusion, calendering, molding, and lamination, the usage of water-based release agents has significantly increased.

Water-based release agents have high tensile strength, making them resistant to polishing when frequently in contact with molded resins. This is particularly true when the resin contains abrasive mineral fillers or glass fiber reinforcements. Water-based release agents are chemically resistant and do not dissolve when in contact with the chemical components of various resins (especially styrene and amines). They also exhibit heat and stress resistance, are not easily decomposed or worn, adhere to the mold without transferring to the processed part, and do not interfere with spraying or other secondary processing operations.

Performance Requirements

The role of a water-based release agent is to smoothly separate the cured and formed product from the mold, resulting in a smooth and flat product while ensuring the mold can be used multiple times. Specific performance requirements are as follows:

1. Release performance (lubricity). Forms a uniform film and ensures dimensional accuracy for complex-shaped molded products.

2. Consistent release performance.

3. The appearance of the molded product is smooth and aesthetically pleasing, without attracting dust due to the application of sticky release agents.

4. Excellent secondary processability. When the release agent transfers to the molded product, it has no adverse effects on processes such as electroplating, hot pressing, printing, coating, or bonding.

5. Easy application.

8. Good molding performance and high production efficiency.

II. Usage Method of Water-based Release Agent:

Spray or brush the product directly onto the surface of the item to be released. The recommended dilution ratio for water-based release agents is 3-10 times, and the specific amount used should be adjusted according to the product system.

III. Performance Characteristics of Water-based Release Agent:

Water-based release agents are resistant to acids, alkalis, and hard water, highly water-soluble, and have stable emulsions. They can be diluted with water in any proportion without stratification, emulsion breaking, or agglomeration. They have a long shelf life, high solid content, and good dispersibility. They are used for release in industries such as aluminum molds, steel molds, wooden molds, silicone molds, glass, ceramic molds, plastic molds, rubber, metal, and plastics. Water-based release agents provide the released products with a smooth, wear-resistant, and anti-adhesive surface with a pleasant feel.
