Metal Die Casting Release Agent

A release agent is an interfacial coating applied to the surfaces of two objects that are prone to sticking together, enabling easy separation, smoothness, and cleanliness of the surfaces. Metal die casting release agents are primarily used in various molding operations for metal materials such as aluminum alloy, magnesium alloy, and zinc alloy. During molding, sometimes other additives may seep onto the interface, requiring a surface release agent to remove them. Theoretically, metal die casting release agents should possess high tensile strength to prevent easy polishing when frequently in contact with molding resins. This is especially true when the resin contains abrasive mineral fillers or glass fiber reinforcements. Metal die casting release agents should have chemical resistance to avoid dissolution when in contact with the chemical components of different resins, particularly styrene and amines. They should also exhibit heat and stress resistance, being resistant to decomposition or wear. Additionally, metal die casting release agents should adhere to the mold without transferring to the processed part, ensuring no interference with painting or other secondary processing operations.

Characteristics of Metal Die Casting Release Agents:

1. Excellent lubrication and release performance. This means the release agent must have sufficient adsorption strength on the metal surface at high temperatures, forming a complete and uniform lubricating film during metal deformation with a low friction coefficient.

2. Good cooling and thermal insulation properties.

3. High-temperature wettability, excellent lubrication performance, and strong separation and release capabilities. It provides superior release effects for die-casting molds with deep cavities, slender cores, and large multi-directional core projection areas.

4. Low gas generation, no oil streaks on the surface, and no porosity. Free of graphite, non-reactive with molds, non-corrosive, preventing mold sticking, scratching, no sedimentation, no carbon buildup, no coking, resulting in clean and bright castings without affecting subsequent processes like painting or electroplating.

5. Smoke-free and pollution-free, maintaining a clean environment and promoting health; easy to use, facilitating automated production.
