Water-based form release agents are also water-soluble, meaning their internal components can fully dissolve in water. Emulsions of compounds such as methyl silicone oil are commonly used in industrial applications. These emulsions are water-soluble and offer high heat resistance, easy cleaning, good corrosion and fire resistance, minimal environmental pollution, and relatively safe transportation and storage.

Due to their high water content, water-based form release agents differ in many aspects from traditional oil-based or solvent-based release agents. The release effect of water-based form release agents depends on a film only a few micrometers thick deposited on the mold cavity surface after spraying. Therefore, there are higher requirements for ingredient selection and process application. However, their advantages are also evident, facilitating automated operations, providing excellent cooling effects, preventing residue buildup, improving the surface quality of castings, reducing internal porosity, ensuring safe usage, maintaining clean production, and reducing environmental pollution.

Application tools and methods: Typically, a wool brush is used for application, ensuring even coating without dripping. For the first coat, a slightly thicker layer can be applied to ensure uniform coverage of the formwork surface.

Selection of water-based form release agent types: In some cases, salad oil can be used as a water-based form release agent. Control the amount applied to prevent the agent from dripping and contaminating the concrete.

Precautions: During application, pay attention to corners and vertical surfaces of the formwork to ensure these areas are evenly coated. Additionally, after application, allow sufficient drying time; surface drying typically takes about 30 minutes, while complete drying requires 24 hours.
