The optical properties of quartz glass sheets are unique. It can transmit far ultraviolet light, making it the best among all ultraviolet-transmitting materials, and it can also transmit visible light and near-infrared spectra. Due to its high-temperature resistance, extremely low thermal expansion coefficient, excellent chemical stability, and bubbles, streaks, uniformity, and birefringence comparable to ordinary optical glass, it is an essential optical material for high-stability optical systems in various harsh environments.

Characteristics of Three Common Window Sheet Materials: JGS1, JGS2, JGS3
JGS1 Characteristics:
It is optical quartz glass melted with high-purity hydrogen and oxygen, containing a large amount of hydroxyl groups (2000ppm). It has excellent ultraviolet transmission performance, especially in the short-wave ultraviolet region, far surpassing all other glasses. Its transmittance at 185 nm can reach 90%. Synthetic quartz glass has a strong absorption peak at 2730 nm, with no particle structure, making it an excellent optical material for the 185–2500 nm wavelength range.

JGS2 Characteristics:
Quartz glass produced from quartz raw materials and hydrogen-oxygen flame, containing several tens of ppm of metal impurities. It has an absorption peak at 2730 nm (hydroxyl content 100–200 ppm), with streaks and particle structure. It is a good material for the 220–2500 nm wavelength range.

JGS3 Characteristics:
Quartz glass produced from quartz raw materials and vacuum electric melting, containing several tens of ppm of metal impurities. It has small bubbles, particle structure, and streaks, with almost no (OH) content. It has high infrared transmission performance, with transmittance up to 85% or higher, making it suitable for the 260–3500 nm wavelength range.
