When the 2L Internal Mixer | Internal Mixer 2L | Small Internal Mixer is working, the two rotors rotate relative to each other, clamping the material from the feed port and bringing it into the roll gap, where it is squeezed and sheared by the rotors. After passing through the roll gap, it hits the tip of the lower plunger and is divided into two parts, which return to the top of the roll gap along the gap between the front and rear chamber walls and the rotors. During the flow around the rotor, the material is subjected to shear and friction everywhere, causing the temperature of the compound to rise sharply and the viscosity to decrease, increasing the wetting of the rubber on the surface of the compounding agents, allowing the rubber to fully contact the surface of the compounding agents. The compounding agent agglomerates pass through the gaps between the rotors, between the rotors and the upper and lower plungers, and the inner wall of the mixing chamber along with the rubber, and are broken by shear, surrounded by stretched and deformed rubber, and stabilized in the broken state. At the same time, the ribs on the rotor cause the rubber to move axially along the rotor, playing a mixing role, making the compounding agents evenly mixed in the rubber. The compounding agents are repeatedly sheared and broken, the rubber repeatedly deforms and recovers, and the continuous stirring of the rotor ribs disperses the compounding agents evenly in the rubber and achieves a certain degree of dispersion. Because the shear effect on the rubber during mixing in the internal mixer is much greater than that in the open mill, and the mixing temperature is higher, the efficiency of mixing in the internal mixer is much higher than that in the open mill.
