Glycidyl methacrylate is a colorless transparent liquid, insoluble in water, almost soluble in all organic solvents, and irritating to the skin and mucous membranes. Avoid contact with acids, oxidizers, ultraviolet radiation, and free radical initiators. Due to the presence of both a carbon-carbon double bond and an epoxy group in its molecule, it can undergo both free radical and ionic reactions. Therefore, it has high reactivity and is an important fine chemical raw material.

Storage Method:
1. Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse.
2. Keep away from fire and heat sources. The storage temperature should not exceed 30°C.
3. Store away from light. Separate from acids and oxidizing agents; avoid mixed storage.

Product Application:
GMA contains two functional groups: a reactive vinyl group and an ionically reactive epoxy group. It can polymerize via functional group reactions or ionic reactions. Therefore, it can be used to modify vinyl polymers and condensation polymers. GMA can participate in polymerization in three ways: first, during vinyl polymerization, placing the epoxy group on a side chain (i.e., "O"-type polymer [2]); second, by ring-opening the epoxy group, placing the vinyl group on a side chain (i.e., "V"-type polymer [3]); third, by reacting with compounds containing active hydrogen, leading to ring-opening of the epoxy group to form a chain. Using any of these three methods, polymers can be modified during polymerization. In coatings, the addition of GMA can improve hardness, gloss, adhesion, and weather resistance, making it suitable for acrylic coatings, acrylate coatings, alkyd resin coatings, vinyl chloride resins, and some water-based coatings.
In acrylic emulsions, adhesives, and non-woven fabrics, GMA can enhance adhesion to metals, glass, cement, and polyvinyl fluoride. When used in synthetic latex non-woven fabrics, it improves washability without affecting texture. In synthetic resin processing, it enhances injection and extrusion moldability and significantly improves adhesion to metals. In synthetic fibers, it improves the dyeability of poorly dyeable fibers, increases color fastness, and enhances wrinkle and shrink resistance. This product can also increase the photosensitivity, resolution, and corrosion resistance of photosensitive resins.

Main Uses:
(1) Mainly used in powder coatings, as well as in thermosetting coatings, fiber treatment agents, adhesives, antistatic agents, vinyl chloride stabilizers, rubber and resin modifiers, ion exchange resins, and printing ink binders.
(2) Used as a functional monomer in polymerization reactions. Primarily used in the production of acrylic powder coatings, acting as a soft monomer copolymerized with hard monomers like styrene to adjust glass transition temperature and flexibility, improving coating gloss, adhesion, and weather resistance. Also used in the production of acrylic emulsions and non-woven fabrics. As a functional monomer, it is used in the manufacture of photosensitive resins, ion exchange resins, chelating resins, medical selective filtration membranes, dental materials, anticoagulants, and hemoadsorbents. It is also used to modify polyolefin resins, rubber, and synthetic fibers.
(3) Due to the presence of both a carbon-carbon double bond and an epoxy group in its molecule, it is widely used in the synthesis and modification of polymer materials. Used as an active diluent for epoxy resins, a stabilizer for vinyl chloride, a modifier for rubber and resins, and a binder for ion exchange resins and printing inks. Also used in powder coatings, thermosetting coatings, fiber treatment agents, adhesives, and antistatic agents. Additionally, GMA significantly improves the adhesion, water resistance, and solvent resistance of adhesives and non-woven fabric coatings.
(4) In electronics, used in photoresist films, electron beams, protective films, and far-infrared and X-ray protective films. In functional polymers, used in ion exchange resins and chelating resins. In medical materials, used in anticoagulant materials and dental materials.
