Anhydrous ethanol

1. Based on the raw materials used in production, it can be divided into starch-based raw material fermented alcohol, molasses-based raw material fermented alcohol, and alcohol produced by fermentation of sulfite pulp waste liquid.

Starch-based raw material fermented alcohol (typically using raw materials containing starch such as tubers, grains, and wild plants, where starch is hydrolyzed into glucose by microorganisms and then further fermented by yeast to produce alcohol);

Molasses-based raw material fermented alcohol (directly utilizing the sugar in molasses, which is diluted, sterilized, and supplemented with some nutrients, then fermented by yeast to produce alcohol);

Alcohol produced by fermentation of sulfite pulp waste liquid (using hexose sugars present in papermaking waste liquid, fermented by yeast to produce alcohol, mainly for industrial use. Alcohol can also be produced from wood chips via dilute acid hydrolysis).

2. Based on the production method, it can be divided into two main categories: fermentation method and synthesis method.

3. Based on product quality or properties, it is further classified into high-purity alcohol, anhydrous alcohol, regular alcohol, and denatured alcohol.

4. According to the product series (BG384-81), it is categorized into premium grade, first grade, second grade, third grade, and fourth grade. Among these, first and second grades correspond to high-purity alcohol and regular refined alcohol. Third grade corresponds to medical alcohol, and fourth grade corresponds to industrial alcohol. The addition of the second grade standard was established to meet the needs of different users and production, reduce waste in production and usage, and promote the improvement of product quality.
