Dipropylene glycol

1) Dipropylene glycol is the most ideal solvent for use in many fragrances and cosmetics. This raw material has excellent solubility in water, oils, and hydrocarbons, with a mild odor, very low skin irritation, and low toxicity. It has a uniform isomeric distribution and excellent quality;

2) Dipropylene glycol can also serve as a coupling agent and humectant in various cosmetic applications. In the perfume industry, it is used in proportions exceeding 50%. In other applications, its usage generally remains below 10% by weight. Some specific product applications include: hair curling solutions, skin cleansers (cold creams, shower gels, bath liquids, and skin lotions), deodorants, facial, hand, and body skincare products, moisturizing skincare products, and lipsticks;

3) Dipropylene glycol is also used in the production of unsaturated and saturated resins. Resins produced with it exhibit superior flexibility, crack resistance, and weather resistance. The product offers long-term resistance to yellowing.

4) It is used as a solvent for cellulose acetate, cellulose nitrate, shellac varnish, and castor oil. It can also be employed in the manufacture of plasticizers, fumigants, synthetic detergents, and more.
