Adult Bed Rail CPC Standard ASTM F3186

An adult portable bed rail refers to any bed rail product or device that can be attached to or removed from a bed, installed at or used along the edge of the bed, and is not designed by the manufacturer to be part of the bed. Such bed rails can be used on beds purchased by consumers for purposes such as:
* Reducing the risk of falling from the bed.
* Assisting consumers in changing positions in bed.
* Helping consumers get into or out of bed.
Adult portable bed rails are generally regulated by the CPSC, except for products claimed to be used for correcting, treating, or preventing diseases or physical conditions, which are designated as medical devices and regulated by the FDA.
