Clothing Mold Prevention Solution
Based on our observation of the current condition of clothing items and years of mold prevention experience, we recommend two methods for your company's clothing mold treatment to ensure no mold growth during production and storage.
Pre-treatment Solution
Textile fabrics can undergo preventive mold treatment at an early stage to control mold growth from the source. Specifically, during the dyeing and finishing setting process, i.e., during the dyeing and finishing setting immersion and padding process, add iHeir-BJ textile mold inhibitor to the water tank of the fabric setting machine at a ratio of 3% o.w.f. This will make the textile fabric resistant to mold, achieving a grade 0 mold prevention standard, as per the AATCC 30 standard test method for evaluating mildew and rot resistance in textiles.
Post-production Prevention Solution
Control of Leather and Textile Fabrics:
Fabrics selected by the factory: leather textile fabrics, woven materials, etc., should be checked for moisture before arrival using the iHeir moisture tester. If the moisture content exceeds 12%, drying treatment is necessary to avoid mold risk. All fabrics must be kept clean and hygienic.
Production Site Control:
Materials in workshop turnover boxes should be kept clean and tidy. It is recommended to cover unused raw material turnover boxes with cloth or plastic film to prevent dust. Semi-finished products should not be placed directly on the floor but isolated using pallets or racks. Special materials can be sent as samples to iHeir for mold risk testing (especially oil-rich leather, woven materials with long fibers, which are prone to mold in raw material storage or processing, and should undergo mold prevention treatment. The method involves spraying iHeir-Spray mold inhibitor directly on textile fabrics and leather to allow the antimicrobial agent to penetrate the surface, preventing and inhibiting mold growth).
Packaging Control:
Before packaging, ensure the clothing is dry with a moisture content not exceeding 11%. During IQC incoming inspection sampling, if moisture exceeds 11%, oven drying is required. During packaging, place a pack of H-4 mold prevention desiccant in the packaging bag for efficient moisture absorption, or during the rainy season, place a pack of F-3 mold prevention bag for both mold prevention and moisture absorption.
Warehouse Control:
1. Material and finished product warehouses should be inspected regularly. Items should not be stacked directly on the floor but placed on racks. All materials should be kept clean, hygienic, and tidy. Infrequently used materials should be stored in PP bags, not exposed to air. Dust on plastic bags should be cleaned regularly to reduce bacterial count in the storage area.
2. Finished and semi-finished products should not be stacked directly on the floor. Use pallets to separate them and keep them >10 cm away from walls. Do not lean materials against walls to avoid moisture and mold risk.
3. When stacking finished and semi-finished products, leave at least 80 cm wide aisles to ensure air circulation. Do not block aisles or stack products too densely to avoid affecting air convection and causing moisture accumulation in certain areas.
4. Finished and semi-finished product warehouses should undergo disinfection monthly. First, maintain clean and hygienic floors. For the first three months, disinfect once a month; after three months, disinfect once every three months. Specific procedure: Perform the disinfection the day before a holiday. After workers leave, close all doors and windows tightly. Then, wearing masks and rubber gloves, operators should evenly spray iHeir-Spray mold inhibitor into the air, especially corners and damp areas. Seal the warehouse for 12-24 hours, then ventilate for 30 minutes. Afterward, mop the floor once with iHeir-Spray mold inhibitor diluted to 5% in water (Note: During the rainy season, perform this monthly).
5. Special attention during the humid season: Finished and semi-finished product warehouses should ensure ventilation. When outdoor humidity is higher than indoor humidity, close doors and windows; otherwise, open them. Record humidity and temperature changes. If indoor relative humidity ≥80% during the humid season, install dehumidification equipment to reduce the risk of moisture and mold.
Container Integration Control
Check if ventilation holes and sealing facilities are intact and free from leaks or deformation.
Containers should be clean, free of oil stains, and odorless to avoid cross-contamination. It is recommended to spray disinfectant iHeir-Spray inside the container (500g per container).
After loading, to prevent moisture from climate changes during ocean transport ("container rain"), it is advised to hang container mold prevention strips on the inner walls of the container, spaced 2-3 meters apart.
Note: It is recommended to train specialized personnel responsible for mold prevention to ensure comprehensive and effective implementation of measures. If there are other questions, our company can provide technical support and professional guidance, or send experts for on-site instruction.
