The Residual Pressure Monitoring System, also known as the Differential Pressure Monitoring System, is designed to ensure that the residual pressure in evacuation passages remains effectively controlled during a fire. It prevents the spread of smoke while allowing evacuees to easily open fire doors for escape, thereby protecting personnel during evacuation. Our company has developed the Fire Emergency Evacuation Residual Pressure Monitoring System in strict compliance with the standards GB50016-2014 "Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings" and GB51251-2017 "Technical Standard for Building Smoke Control Systems".

This system integrates bus control technology into an intelligent system. It performs 24-hour real-time automatic monitoring of the working status of the residual pressure in evacuation passages, providing alarm prompts for abnormal pressure conditions. In the event of a fire, the system can automatically regulate the air supply volume of the mechanical pressurization air supply system and can also be remotely controlled from the fire control center.

①Residual Pressure Monitor

The Residual Pressure Monitor is the central monitoring unit of the entire Residual Pressure Monitoring System. It can monitor residual pressure values, residual pressure alarms, pressure relief status, alarm linkage status, system operation status, and control the execution of pressure relief by the Residual Pressure Controller. It allows for unified parameter configuration of the system and provides 24-hour real-time monitoring of the residual pressure throughout the evacuation system.

②Residual Pressure Controller

The Residual Pressure Controller is one of the main components of the Residual Pressure Monitoring System.

Its primary functions include: providing centralized power supply to Residual Pressure Detectors, collecting data from Residual Pressure Detectors, controlling the opening and closing of pressure relief valves in the positive pressure air supply system, and interfacing with the Residual Pressure Monitor.

③Residual Pressure Detector

The Residual Pressure Detector collects residual pressure according to standards. The pressure difference between the anteroom, enclosed refuge floor (room), and the corridor should be 25Pa to 30Pa, while the pressure difference between the stairwell and the corridor should be 40Pa to 50Pa. It uploads the collected residual pressure values to the KEYK Residual Pressure Monitor and generates an alarm signal when the residual pressure exceeds the standard value.

④Pressure Relief Valve Actuator

The Pressure Relief Valve Actuator is an intelligently controlled valve actuator that receives commands from the KEYK Residual Pressure Controller to automatically control the opening or closing angle of the bypass pressure relief valve. This ensures that the residual pressure in the controlled area remains within the standard specified range. It operates on a 24V power supply.

Main Functions of the Residual Pressure System:

During a fire, the system monitors and controls the air supply pressure in evacuation passages (stairwells and anterooms) to meet the standard values required for fire escape. It blocks harmful smoke from entering while ensuring the normal opening of fire doors and maintaining clear life passages.

Under normal conditions, the fan pressurizes air into the air shaft through ductwork. The pressurized air is then distributed to the anteroom or stairwell of each floor through louvers or air valves. When the residual pressure between the anteroom or stairwell and the corridor (anteroom-corridor residual pressure, stairwell-corridor residual pressure) exceeds the set value (30Pa for anteroom, 50Pa for stairwell), the Residual Pressure Detector on each floor immediately sends an alarm signal to the Residual Pressure Controller. The Residual Pressure Controller then activates the bypass pressure relief valve actuator based on the signal from the Residual Pressure Detector. Once the bypass pressure relief valve opens, some of the pressurized air from the fan is redirected back to the front end of the fan through the bypass duct, reducing the air supply to the anteroom and stairwell and lowering the residual pressure. When the residual pressure between the anteroom or stairwell and the corridor drops to the set value (25Pa for anteroom, 40Pa for stairwell), the bypass pressure relief valve automatically closes. This ensures automatic control of the residual pressure in the anteroom and stairwell, preventing smoke from flowing back into the anteroom and stairwell, and ensuring safe evacuation.
