System Introduction:
The Power Monitoring System is a hierarchical distributed substation monitoring and management system developed by Yachuan Electric Power for voltage levels of 35kV and below, in accordance with the requirements of power system automation and unattended operation. This system integrates protection, monitoring, control, communication, and other functions into an open, networked, modular, and configurable system using power automation technology, computer technology, and information transmission technology. It is suitable for urban grid, rural grid substations, and user substations with voltage levels of 35kV and below, enabling comprehensive control and management of substations, meeting the needs of unattended or minimally attended substations, and providing a solid guarantee for the safe, stable, and economic operation of substations.

System Architecture:
The Power Monitoring System adopts a hierarchical distributed design, which can be divided into three layers: station control management layer, network communication layer, and field device layer. The networking methods can include standard network structure, fiber optic star network structure, and fiber optic ring network structure, considering factors such as user power consumption scale, distribution of electrical equipment, and area coverage.
System Functions:
1:Real-time Monitoring
The substation integrated automation system has a user-friendly interface, intuitively displaying the operating status of distribution lines in the form of a primary distribution diagram. It monitors real-time electrical parameters such as voltage, current, power, power factor, and dynamically monitors the open/close status of circuit breakers, disconnectors, grounding switches, and related fault and alarm signals.
2: Detailed Electrical Parameter Query
In the primary distribution diagram, detailed electrical parameters of the circuit can be directly viewed, including three-phase current, three-phase voltage, total active power, total reactive power, total power factor, forward active energy, and the 24-hour phase current trend curve.
3: Operation Reports
Query the operating parameters of each circuit or equipment for a specified time. The report displays electrical parameters including phase currents, three-phase voltages, total power factor, total active power, total reactive power, forward active energy, etc.
4: Real-time Alarms
The substation monitoring and management system has real-time alarm functionality. It can issue alarms for remote signal changes such as circuit breaker, disconnector, and grounding switch operations, protection actions, and fault trips. The system also features real-time voice alarms for all events.
5: Historical Event Query
The substation integrated automation system can store and manage records of remote signal changes, protection actions, fault trips, and events such as voltage, current, power, and power factor exceeding limits, facilitating historical traceability, query statistics, and accident analysis.
6: Energy Statistical Reports
The Power Monitoring System supports the integrity of the measurement system with rich report formats. It has a timed meter reading summary function, allowing users to freely query the electricity consumption of each distribution node for any period since the system started normal operation, i.e., statistical analysis reports of the incoming line electricity consumption and branch circuit consumption.
7: User Permission Management
To ensure the safe and stable operation of the system, the Power Monitoring System includes user permission management. It prevents unauthorized operations (such as remote control operations, database modifications) by defining login names, passwords, and operation permissions for users at different levels, providing reliable security for system operation, maintenance, and management.
8: Network Topology Diagram
The power system supports real-time monitoring of the communication status of devices connected to the system, fully displaying the entire network structure. It can diagnose device communication status online and automatically display faulty devices or components and their locations in the interface when network abnormalities occur.
9: Power Quality Monitoring
The Power Monitoring System can continuously monitor the power quality and reliability of the entire distribution system. For example, maintenance personnel can use the harmonic analysis interface to understand the harmonic content of the distribution system and take timely measures to improve system reliability and reduce power supply accidents caused by harmonics.
10: Three Remote Functions
The basic functions of the system include "telemetry," "telesignaling," and "telecontrol," collectively referred to as the "three remote functions."
Telemetry:
Continuously collects, analyzes, processes, and records analog quantities such as current, voltage, power, frequency, and power factor for high and low voltage systems in real time. Important parameters like bus voltage, bus current, and transformer power are displayed in real time as constant measurement data with over-limit alarm functionality.
Telesignaling:
Monitors the operating status of switches and protection actions in switchgear in real time, available for computer display at any time. Alarms are issued when switch faults occur, and the switch status is sent to the mimic panel for operator observation. The actions and changes of each switch status are recorded in real time for future use.
Telecontrol:
Select the switch to be remotely controlled via the main computer. The switch status on the screen reflects the actual state. Select the remote control function, enter the operation password, and perform switch closing/opening. The operation success or failure is displayed, and the operation time, type, and switch name are recorded. It also allows for reasonable load distribution based on the actual system load to ensure reliable power supply for critical loads.
11: Communication Management
The Power Monitoring System can manage, control, and monitor the communication status of devices throughout the distribution system in real time. For example, maintenance personnel can right-click the main program of the monitoring system to open the communication management program, then select communication control to start all ports or a specific port, quickly viewing the communication and data status of a device.
