The online suspended solids meter indicates the degree of obstruction caused by suspended solids in water to light transmission. The presence of soil, silt, fine organic matter, microorganisms, and colloidal substances in water can result in suspended solids. Light waves emitted by the sensor are absorbed, reflected, and scattered by the measured substance during transmission. Some transmitted light reaches the detector at 180°, while some scattered light reaches the detector at 90°. The intensity of light received by the detectors at 180° and 90° correlates with the suspended solids in the wastewater, allowing the concentration to be calculated by measuring the intensity of transmitted and scattered light.

Protection rating: IP65 Daily Maintenance GuidelinesThe instrument is generally calibrated before shipment and can be used directly. A shading plate must be placed above the submersible suspended solids sensor to avoid interference from external light and prevent measurement errors. The instrument generally has a low failure rate. Maintenance: 1. For initial use, run the instrument for 24 hours before testing. 2. Calibration: Measure the suspended solids of the outlet water using a non-continuous suspended solids meter, then adjust the calibration potentiometer so that the display matches the measured value. 3. After normal operation, the 4–20 mA output corresponds to the measurement range. 4. If the optical window of the submersible sensor becomes contaminated after prolonged use, clean it to avoid operational errors. 5. To clean the window, use tweezers to hold an alcohol-soaked cotton ball and gently wipe the optical window until clean. After cleaning, recalibrate the instrument according to the usage instructions. |
