XGSY Spiral Sand-Water Separator
◎ Purpose and Introduction
The XGSY type spiral sand-water separator is used in the grit chamber of sewage treatment plants to separate the sand-water mixture discharged from the grit chamber.
◎ Structure and Working Principle
The XGSY series sand-water separator consists of a shaftless spiral, nylon liner, U-shaped trough, water tank, deflector plate, and drive device.
During operation, the sand-water mixture is fed from the top of one end of the separator. Heavier components such as sand particles settle at the bottom of the U-shaped trough. Under the propulsion of the spiral, the sand particles are lifted along the inclined bottom of the U-shaped trough. After leaving the liquid surface, they continue to be pushed for a certain distance. Once fully dewatered, the sand is discharged through the sand outlet into a sand collection bucket, while the separated water flows out from the overflow outlet and into the plant's inlet channel.
◎ Features
1. Separation efficiency can reach up to 96%–98%, capable of separating particles with a diameter ≥0.2mm.
2. Utilizes a shaftless spiral with no underwater bearings, making maintenance convenient.
3. Compact structure and lightweight.
4. Features a new transmission device, with its key component—the reducer—being an advanced shaft-mounted type, eliminating the need for a coupling and facilitating easy installation and alignment.
5. The nylon liner is quick-install type, making replacement easy.
