I. Product Overview:
The SAIPU-RD1200-01 series Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar level meter is a non-contact level detection instrument utilizing microwave technology, specifically designed for detecting the position of static objects to assist in volume measurement and management. SAIPU AUTOMATIC radar products employ LFMCW technology with a sawtooth wave as the modulation signal. Featuring an extremely narrow antenna beam angle and operating at 122GHz (terahertz), it can detect the distance between the radar antenna plane and the object plane, achieving a resolution of 0.01mm and a measurement range of 30m.

III. Product Principle:
Unlike pulse radar, continuous wave radar receivers process the beat signal resulting from the mixing of the target echo and the radar transmission signal, which further enables continuous wave radar to achieve higher range resolution. Additionally, the time width of the continuous wave radar transmission signal determines the system's range resolution; the greater the time width, the higher the range resolution.
The greater the energy of the radar transmission signal, the stronger the ability to detect targets. The energy of the transmission signal is determined by the product of the transmission signal power and the transmission signal time width. Based on the derivation of the pulse radar signal energy formula, it can be concluded that the equivalent pulse power of linear frequency modulated continuous wave radar is higher than its transmitted power by a factor of the time-bandwidth product of the transmission signal. Therefore, the energy of the signal transmitted by linear frequency modulated continuous wave radar is much higher than that of pulse radar with the same parameters, giving it superior target detection capability compared to other forms of radar.
Compared to traditional low-frequency pulse radar, millimeter wave frequency modulated radar offers the advantages of a narrow beam angle and high signal-to-noise ratio. It enables installation and measurement in confined spaces over large ranges, reducing installation requirements and lowering costs for integrators. Simultaneously, for interference from the field environment, frequency modulated continuous wave radar can achieve effective detection by varying the accumulation time, with anti-interference performance significantly superior to that of pulse radar.
