Low Melting Point Scratch-Resistant and Wear-Resistant Glass Powder for Ceramic Glaze, 1250 Mesh High-Whiteness Lead-Free Anti-Cracking Filler Powder
Other Products
Glass powder is an inorganic amorphous hard ultrafine particle powder, appearing as a white powder. It is produced using raw materials such as high-temperature, high-purity silicon oxide and aluminum oxide, through an ultra-clean production process, forming a disordered structure of transparent glass powder. It exhibits stable chemical properties, with acid and alkali resistance, chemical inertness, and low expansion coefficient, making it a super weather-resistant powder material.
Glass powder is an anti-scratch, highly transparent powder material with small particle size, good dispersibility, high transparency, and excellent anti-settling effects. Through surface modification, it possesses good affinity and strong steric hindrance capability, allowing it to disperse easily in coatings. After film formation, it enhances the fullness of the coating. When used in crystal-clear primers, it maintains clear transparency while providing excellent scratch resistance.
Applications of Glass Powder
1. Glass powder appears as a white powder macroscopically but is microscopically clear and transparent.
2. Particle morphology: Cubic or spherical particles with a relatively smooth surface.
3. Excellent insulation: Due to its high purity, low impurity content, and stable performance, it exhibits outstanding electrical insulation properties, giving the cured product good insulation and anti-arc performance.
4. Crack resistance: It can match the expansion coefficient of materials, reduce the peak exothermic temperature of resin curing reactions, lower the linear expansion coefficient and shrinkage of the cured product, thereby eliminating internal stress and preventing cracking.
5. Corrosion resistance: Glass powder is not easily reactive with other substances and does not chemically react with most acids and bases. Its particles uniformly cover the surface of objects, providing strong corrosion resistance.
6. Flame retardancy: The particle size distribution of glass powder is rationally graded, reducing or eliminating sedimentation and stratification during use. It enhances the tensile and compressive strength of the cured product, improves wear resistance, increases thermal conductivity, and boosts flame retardancy.
7. Glass powder treated with silane coupling agents exhibits good compatibility with various resins, strong adsorption, easy mixing and dispersion, and no agglomeration.
8. As a functional filler added to organic resins, glass powder not only improves various properties of the cured product, especially flame retardancy, insulation, weather resistance, and scratch resistance.
9. Due to its refractive index matching that of most resins, glass powder provides coatings (particularly furniture paints) with high transparency. Even when added at up to 15%, it does not affect the transparency of the resin.
Characteristics of Glass Powder
1. Glass powder offers good transparency, high hardness, and uniform particle size distribution.
2. It has excellent dispersibility and good compatibility with resins and other components in paint systems.
3. After multiple surface treatments, glass powder acts as a filler in paint systems without imparting a blue tint to the film and offers good recoatability.
4. Used in high-end scratch-resistant topcoats, it increases the hardness and toughness of the topcoat, improves the scratch resistance of the film, has a matting effect, and enhances the weather resistance of the film.
5. Compared to talc powder, glass powder tends to settle more easily after paint thinning, so anti-settling measures should be appropriately strengthened.
Uses of Glass Powder
1. Acts as a bonding agent in high-temperature coatings, paints, and inks, replacing resin as the main raw material.
2. Used for sealing glass, ceramics, and metals.
3. Serves as a functional filler in silicone, rubber, plastics, and resin materials for synergistic flame retardancy.
4. Functions as a transparent filler material for high-temperature electronic encapsulation.
5. Can be used as a functional filler in lightning protection projects and ultra-high voltage transmission for insulation and anti-electrical breakdown.
6. Used as a sintering material for ultra-hard grinding and polishing materials.
7. Applied in special crafts (such as artificial diamonds and glass items).
8. Serves as a functional carrier in pharmaceuticals.
9. Used as a carrier for industrial catalysts.
10. Functions as a high-temperature inorganic solvent in the temperature range of 390–780°C.
