For example, in ammonia refrigeration units, their high heat transfer efficiency enables rapid heat exchange between liquid refrigerant and cooling water, achieving 20%-30% energy savings compared to shell-and-tube equipment. In cold chain logistics, spiral plate heat exchangers reduce impurity buildup due to their self-cleaning flow channels, ensuring stable operation of low-temperature refrigerants. Brazed plate heat exchangers, known for their high-pressure resistance and compact size, serve as core components in air conditioning heat pumps. In recent years, the promotion of CO₂ transcritical cycle technology has further driven the application of titanium plate heat exchangers in supercritical CO₂ refrigeration systems, with pressure resistance exceeding 10 MPa.

Efficient Solutions for HVAC Systems

In the HVAC field, plate heat exchangers are critical equipment for district heating and building air conditioning systems. In high-rise buildings, they function as intermediate heat exchangers to isolate primary and secondary networks, ensuring hydraulic balance and preventing cross-contamination of water quality. For instance, in northern centralized heating systems, plate heat exchangers can convert 90°C primary hot water from thermal power plants into 60°C domestic hot water, with heat recovery rates exceeding 95%. Additionally, when integrated with heat pumps, they enable cascaded utilization of geothermal/air-source thermal energy. In recent years, wide-gap plate heat exchangers with flow channel gaps of 6-10 mm have been introduced, capable of handling media containing fibers or particles, and are widely used in waste heat recovery from biomass boilers.
