Pulverized Coal Injection Lance
Other Products
The lance insertion position is determined by the tuyere, straight blowpipe structure, lance structure, and the furnace condition itself. Inserting the lance too deep can easily cause the lance tip to burn and "blossom," while inserting it too shallow may lead to erosion and damage to the tuyere sleeve. Therefore, it is essential to choose a reasonable lance insertion position. At the same time, the selection of materials for the lance barrel, especially the barrel tip, is crucial. The higher the resistance to high-temperature oxidation, the longer the service life of the lance. The occurrence of the above issues will affect the service life and effectiveness of the lance. Therefore, when using the lance, attention must be paid to preventing and resolving these problems. When the wear resistance of the material is better, under the same operating conditions, the occurrence of defects will be relatively delayed, and may not even appear within one cycle. This phenomenon is known as fatigue damage.
When we encounter lance damage, the initial reaction might be to suspect the quality of the lance. However, if we carefully analyze and inspect the damage condition of the lance, it can greatly help in identifying the cause and solving the problem. The lance begins operation after being inserted into the straight blowpipe. If it suddenly fails abnormally within a short period, it mainly manifests in the following forms: 1. Burnout and melting: This type of damage mainly occurs within 500 mm of the front end of the lance inside the straight blowpipe. It appears as localized melting, with pits and melt holes of varying sizes on the surface. The defective area is clearly formed from the outside inward.
This type of damage mostly occurs shortly after the lance resumes operation following a furnace shutdown. The main causes of this damage are system failures and improper operation. For example, poor furnace conditions, tuyere coking, system blockage or intermittent injection, hot air backflow, tuyere slagging, and air leakage at the contact point between the lance and the tuyere can all lead to this type of damage. Improper operation is also one of the causes, such as failing to promptly supplement air and retract the lance when stopping injection, or rapid pressure recovery during furnace shutdown. 2. Perforation and erosion leakage: This type of damage can occur at any part of the coal injection lance. The higher the resistance to high-temperature oxidation, the longer the service life of the lance.
