Basic properties: Molecular weight 92.85, a volatile, unstable colorless liquid with a pungent odor similar to chloroform and ether. Density 1.1806 g/cm³, boiling point 116.11°C, freezing point -57.2°C, refractive index (nₐ²⁰) 1.4382, flash point (open cup) 40.6°C, autoignition point 415°C. Slightly soluble in water, miscible with various organic solvents, and forms azeotropes with many organic liquids.

Main applications:
Epichlorohydrin is an important organic chemical raw material and a fine chemical chlorinated product. It is mainly used in the production of epoxy resins, synthetic glycerol, chlorohydrin rubber, fiberglass reinforced plastics, and electrical insulation products. These products are widely applied in the chemical industry, light industry, transportation, pharmaceuticals, electronics, and electrical appliances. It is also used as a solvent for cellulose esters, resins, and cellulose ethers, as well as a raw material for producing plasticizers, stabilizers, surfactants, and neoprene rubber.
Packaging and storage:
Due to the potential for self-polymerization catalyzed by iron chloride or tin chloride, it should be stored in dry, clean galvanized iron drums, 240kg per drum. Store in a cool, ventilated, and dry place, away from fire and heat sources. Handle and transport in accordance with flammable material regulations.
