Diacetone alcohol is a high-boiling organic solvent with low viscosity and minimal temperature effect on viscosity. Used as a solvent and paint stripper for cellulose ester paints, printing inks, synthetic resin coatings, etc.;
Diacetone alcohol is an intermediate in the production of mesityl oxide, methyl isobutyl ketone, methyl isobutyl carbinol, hexylene glycol, phorone, and isophorone from acetone;
