Applications: Used as a solvent for cellulose acetate, resins, vegetable oils, mineral oils, soluble dyes, etc.
Main Uses:
This product is used as a solvent, reaction medium, and extraction agent in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, fragrances, and other specialty fine chemicals, as well as in scientific research. In Japan, it is mainly used as a stabilizer for 1,1,1-trichloroethane, with an addition amount of 2.5-4%;
Additionally, it is widely used as a reaction solvent in the synthesis of polyurethane synthetic leather, amino acid synthetic leather, etc. Its solvency is strong, similar to dimethylformamide and stronger than tetrahydrofuran.
The following uses of dioxane are noteworthy:
(1) It forms a complex with sulfur trioxide and can be used as a sulfating agent in the synthesis of many compounds;
(2) It is used in the extraction of pharmaceuticals and pesticides, as well as in the dewaxing of petroleum products;
(3) It serves as a dispersant for dyes, a dispersant for wood colorants, and a solvent for oil-soluble dyes;
(4) It is used as a high-purity metal surface treatment agent, etc.
