The TP7-D petroleum thermometer is designed and tested in compliance with international intrinsic safety explosion-proof standards, suitable for use in flammable and explosive environments in Zone 0.

The TP7-D is constructed with durable stainless steel and plastic components, featuring an ergonomic design. Its non-stick cable surface is easy to clean, making the TP7-D highly suitable for heavy liquid products like asphalt. Like previous models, the TP7-D employs a durable thin-film RTD sensor for reliable temperature measurement, an automatic backlight for low-light conditions, and a new motherboard for enhanced accuracy. The surface now features a larger display with 1/2-inch (13 mm) alphanumeric characters and raised buttons for easy operation with gloves. The center button provides simple on/off operation. An intuitive menu allows users to record readings, select Celsius or Fahrenheit units, adjust display resolution, and perform calibration. Icons on the display help users monitor temperature stability, battery status, and access auxiliary functions. Easily replaceable AA batteries provide up to 200 hours of machine operation.

The TP7-D offers multiple probe configurations, with allowable cable lengths up to 165 feet (50 meters), making it an ideal choice for many tank gauging applications.

It comes with a one-year warranty, an NIST-traceable 4-point calibration report, and an operation manual, with lifetime service support.
