Characteristics and Application Range:
5052 belongs to the Al-Mg-Si series alloy, which is a rust-proof aluminum. Compared to 3A21, 5A02 has higher strength, especially in terms of fatigue strength. Similar to 3A21, it has high plasticity and corrosion resistance. It cannot be strengthened by heat treatment; it has good weldability with contact welding and hydrogen atomic welding, but tends to form crystallization cracks during argon arc welding. The alloy has good machinability in cold-worked and semi-cold-worked states, but poor machinability in the annealed state, and can be polished. It has a wide range of applications, especially in the construction industry, where it is indispensable. It is considered one of the most promising alloys. It offers good corrosion resistance, excellent weldability, and decent cold workability, with moderate strength. The main alloying element of 5052 is magnesium, providing good formability, corrosion resistance, weldability, and moderate strength. It is used in the manufacture of aircraft fuel tanks, oil pipes, sheet metal parts for transportation vehicles and ships, instrument parts, street lamp brackets, rivets, hardware products, and electrical appliance casings.

Heat Treatment Specifications:
1) Homogenization Annealing: Heat to 440°C; hold for 12–14 hours; air cool.
2) Rapid Annealing: Heat to 350–410°C; hold for 30–120 minutes; air or water cool.
3) High-Temperature Annealing: Heat to 350–420°C; for finished thickness ≥6mm or <6mm, hold for 2–10 minutes or 10–30 minutes; air cool.
4) Low-Temperature Annealing: Heat to 250–300°C or 150–180°C; hold for 1–2 hours; air cool.
