Working Principle:

Jupiter operates on the "time-of-flight" principle. A low-energy pulse generated by Jupiter propagates along the magnetostrictive wire. The return signal is produced at the precise location where the float's magnetic field intersects the wire. A timer accurately measures the elapsed time between pulse generation and the return of the acoustic signal.
