Sodium Dihydrogen Phosphate (NaH₂PO₄)

1. Basic Properties

- Chemical Formula: NaH₂PO₄ (anhydrous) or NaH₂PO₄·2H₂O (dihydrate)

- Appearance: Colorless crystals or white powder, soluble in water

- Solubility:

  - 59.8 g/100 mL (20°C, anhydrous)

  - 85 g/100 mL (20°C, dihydrate)

- pH (1% aqueous solution): 4.1-4.5 (weakly acidic)

- Melting Point: 60°C (dehydration of dihydrate), decomposes at 200°C

2. Main Applications

- Food Industry:

  - Acidity regulator (E339i)

  - Water-retaining agent for meat products

  - Component in baking leavening agents

- Water Treatment:

  - Corrosion inhibitor (boiler water treatment)

  - Scale inhibitor
