During the processing of textiles, after multiple treatments, the hand feel tends to become rough, especially in general synthetic fiber fabrics, and even more so in microfiber fabrics. To endow fabrics with a soft, smooth, and comfortable hand feel, finishing is necessary, which involves the application of softeners.
Softening agents are extensively used in the spinning of chemical fibers, as well as in the spinning and weaving processes of various fibers. This is because, with the widespread adoption of high-speed and low-liquor-ratio methods in textile processing, friction between fabrics and between fabrics and equipment increases, making them prone to issues such as abrasion and streaks.

Softeners are high-molecular-weight cationic surfactants synthesized from raw materials such as fatty acids and diethylenetriamine, with a molecular weight 5-10 times larger than that of ordinary cationic softeners. They exhibit excellent adhesion to various fibers and impart an exceptional hand feel. They are suitable for the finishing of pure cotton, polyester-cotton, cotton-linen, linen, synthetic fibers (simulated silk), silk, medium-length fibers, as well as wool and rabbit hair fabrics.
