Chemical Composition

Sodium butylnaphthalene sulfonate

Physicochemical Indicators

Appearance: Beige-white powder

pH Value: 1% aqueous solution pH = 7-9

Solubility: Easily soluble in water

Ionic Nature: Anionic surfactant

Penetrating Power: 100±5% of the standard product

Main Features

Performance: Significantly reduces the surface tension of water, possesses excellent penetrating power and wettability, good rewetting properties, and exhibits emulsifying, dispersing, and foaming capabilities.

Stability: Resistant to acids and alkalis, but not suitable for mercerizing alkali baths. Resistant to hard water; adding a small amount of sodium chloride can greatly enhance penetrating power. Forms precipitates with salts of aluminum, iron, zinc, lead, etc.

Compatibility: Generally compatible with most agents except cationic dyes and cationic surfactants. Non-ionic leveling agents in dye baths may form loose complexes with Penetrating Agent BX, neutralizing leveling performance; thus, they should generally not be used simultaneously in the same bath.
