YINK-740 Styrene Inhibitor
YINK-740 is a comprehensive functional additive for unsaturated resins that effectively reduces VOC emissions of styrene monomer. It can reduce static process volatilization of styrene monomer by up to 90%, thereby significantly lowering styrene VOC emissions throughout the production process to meet national regulatory standards. YINK-740 does not affect the interlayer adhesion of unsaturated polyester, provides excellent leveling, anti-orange peel and pinholing properties, and enhances air-drying characteristics. It is particularly suitable for unsaturated resins requiring high leveling performance.

Features and Benefits
A comprehensive functional additive that reduces styrene monomer VOC emissions while providing excellent surface drying and leveling properties, reducing orange peel and pinholing, and enhancing air-drying characteristics. Suitable for various unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins. This additive reduces styrene volatilization and improves product surface quality without negatively affecting interlayer adhesion. Used in the production of low styrene emission (LSE) unsaturated polyester resins or during the processing of conventional unsaturated polyester resins.
Recommended Applications
Universal type: Suitable for phthalic acid resins, DCPD-containing resins, isophthalic acid resins, and vinyl ester resins.
Recommended Dosage
0.3-0.5% based on resin.
The above dosage is empirical; the optimal amount should be determined through a series of tests.
Addition Method and Processing Guidelines
Can be added during the dilution stage after resin synthesis to produce low volatile (LSE) resins, or added on-site when using conventional resins. Ensure uniform dispersion after addition. For on-site use, stir into the resin before adding other components.
The product disperses relatively evenly; at room temperature, no heating is required—only slight stirring is needed for incorporation (below room temperature, decide whether to heat and stir for dispersion based on temperature conditions).
If non-thixotropic resins show a tendency to flocculate or precipitate on the surface during storage, stir thoroughly before use.
Stratification may occur when stored in high-temperature environments (≥30°C); stir uniformly before use.
YINK-740 can also be used to inhibit MMA volatilization, but polarity adjustment of the system is required to address compatibility issues.
