Appears as colorless to pale yellow cubic crystals at low temperatures.

Product Properties: Triethanolamine has a slight ammonia odor, is soluble in water, ethanol, acetone, glycerol, and ethylene glycol, slightly soluble in benzene, ether, and carbon tetrachloride, and almost insoluble in non-polar solvents. Its alkalinity is weaker than ammonia, exhibiting properties of both tertiary amines and alcohols. It forms salts with organic acids at low temperatures and esters at high temperatures; it chelates with various metals forming 2-4 ligand complexes. This product is flammable, low in toxicity, and must be strictly avoided from contact with oxidizers and acids.

Applications:

1. In the cement industry, used as a grinding aid (accounting for about 75% of the grinding aid formulation), not only preventing particle aggregation and cushioning during crushing, improving the fluidity and packing density of cement, but also reducing the power consumption of grinding mills.

2. In the concrete industry, used as an early-strength agent, significantly enhancing the early strength of concrete.

3. In the cosmetics industry, used as an emulsifier, humectant, moisturizer, thickener, and pH neutralizer.

4. Triethanolamine oleate, produced by the reaction of triethanolamine with oleic acid, is an important component in the preparation of corrosion inhibitors used in boiler water treatment, automotive engine coolants, drilling, and cutting oils in the machining industry.

5. Used as a stationary phase in gas chromatography.

6. Used as an efficient chelating agent for various heavy metals.

In cosmetics (including skin cleansers, eye gels, moisturizers, shampoos, etc.), it is used as an emulsifier, humectant, moisturizer, thickener, and pH balancer.
