Fiberglass Grating

Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) grating is a panel material with numerous openings, made by combining glass fiber as reinforcement with unsaturated polyester resin as the matrix through a special processing technique. It can be used as structural material for floors, trench covers, platforms, ship decks, stairways, and walkways in corrosive environments.

Due to the presence of corrosive liquids and gases, metals in these areas corrode rapidly. Even with anti-corrosion coatings, the corrosion of components remains significant, leading to poor production environments and safety hazards, sometimes necessitating shutdowns for maintenance. Using FRP grating as structural material in these areas proves highly effective, offering advantages such as long service life, low cost, safety, reliability, minimal maintenance, and an aesthetically pleasing appearance. This product has been widely used in the United States for over thirty years, and its production, application, and sales have now become standardized, serialized, and commercialized with substantial volumes. In the reconstruction of the Gulf region and Middle Eastern oil fields, experts have concluded that FRP grating is the most economical and reasonable material, leading to its extensive adoption. It is also being used in Asia, Singapore, Taiwan, and other regions.

· Lightweight: Its specific gravity is about 1.8, weighing only 1/4 that of steel and 2/3 that of aluminum;

· High Strength: Its strength is ten times that of rigid PVC, with absolute strength far exceeding aluminum and matching that of ordinary steel;

· Corrosion Resistance: It does not rust, mold, or decay, requires no painting, and can withstand corrosion from many gas and liquid media;

· Fatigue Resistance: FRP grating has some elasticity, making it comfortable for long-term use as a working platform. It reduces leg and back strain for workers, enhancing comfort and thereby improving work efficiency, as recommended by ergonomists;

· Comprehensive Economic Benefits: Compared to ordinary carbon steel, FRP grating has lower overall costs. Although the initial investment is higher than carbon steel, its long service life (typically 20 years) and minimal maintenance result in significantly better comprehensive economic benefits;

· Easy Installation: The use of FRP grating greatly reduces the weight of components, thereby decreasing the weight of supporting structures. No lifting equipment is needed during installation, making it both economical and convenient.
