Detection Parameters
·Dryness Value: Used to measure the content of liquid water in steam. A higher dryness value indicates less liquid water in the steam, which is more conducive to processes such as sterilization. For example, when sterilizing metal carriers, the dryness value should not be less than 0.95; for non-metal carriers, it should not be less than 0.9236.
·Superheat Degree: Refers to the temperature difference between superheated steam and saturated steam at the same atmospheric pressure. Superheated steam only condenses when its temperature drops to the boiling point, thereby generating the moisture required for sterilization. If the superheat degree does not meet the requirements, it may affect sterilization effectiveness and lead to increased system energy consumption.
·Non-Condensable Gas Content: Detects the content of gases in steam that cannot condense into water, such as air or other inert gases. The presence of non-condensable gases reduces the heat transfer efficiency and sterilization effectiveness of steam. Their volume in every 100ml of saturated steam generally should not exceed 3.5ml.
Working Principle
Primarily based on various physical and chemical analysis methods, the system tests various indicators of steam through processes such as sampling, heating, cooling, and separation. For example, by using a weighing instrument to measure the weight of a certain amount of steam before and after condensation and mixing with a certain amount of room-temperature water, the heat is calculated based on the temperature difference, thereby determining the steam dryness value; by measuring the temperature and pressure of the steam, the superheat degree is calculated based on the pressure-to-steam ratio; by condensing a fixed amount of steam and collecting the released gases, the non-condensable gas content is calculated based on the volume ratio of condensate water to gas.
