Overview : Since its successful trial production by the Environmental Protection Research Institute of Shanghai Petrochemical General Plant, soft filler has been widely used in recent years in printing and dyeing, silk, wool spinning, food, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, papermaking, hemp spinning, hospital, and cyanide-containing wastewater treatment due to its advantages such as large specific surface area, high utilization rate, variable voids without clogging, wide applicability, low cost, and reduced transportation expenses. To further leverage its product characteristics and economic benefits, with guidance and assistance from relevant research institutions in recent years, soft filler has been innovated with diverse forms and rational structures, achieving better results. It overcomes previous drawbacks such as insufficient actual surface area, easy breakage of the central rope, and fiber bundle clumping, thus gaining widespread acceptance among users. Structure and Features The modified soft filler uses twisted fiber ropes to string together plastic discs uniformly distributed with fiber filaments, forming unit fiber bundles of a certain length (see filler representation for details). It addresses and overcomes previous issues such as central rope fraying and knotting, uneven tensile strength, easy breakage during operation, difficulty in lateral expansion of fiber filaments in water, uneven distribution, bias, biofilm clumping, low actual specific surface area, and short service life. According to relevant department measurements, the modified soft filler doubles the utilization rate compared to the original. Scope of Application The second and third-generation series products developed through modification have significantly improved performance and a broader scope of application. D2, D3, E2, and E3 are suitable for aerobic treatment of industrial wastewater from printing and dyeing, dyeing and finishing, wool spinning, carpet, cotton spinning, silk, pharmaceutical, cyanide-containing, petrochemical, and domestic sewage. A2, A3, B2, B3, C2, and C3 soft fillers are suitable for anaerobic treatment of high-concentration wastewater from hemp spinning, alcohol, sugar, papermaking, food, fermentation, and other industries. | |
