The molecular formula of aluminum sulfate is AL2(SO4)3, with a molecular weight of 342.15. It appears as a white rhombic crystalline powder or lump with a density of 1.69 g/ml (25°C). In the paper industry, it is used as a precipitant for rosin glue, wax emulsions, and other adhesives. In water treatment, it serves as a flocculant. It is also used as an internal retention agent in foam fire extinguishers, as a raw material for producing alum and aluminum white, as a decolorizing and deodorizing agent in petroleum, and as a raw material for certain pharmaceuticals. Additionally, it is employed in the manufacture of artificial gemstones and high-grade ammonium alum.
Scope of Application:
Primarily suitable for the manufacturing of high-grade paper whitening and sizing agents, post-coating treatment in titanium dioxide production, soil improvement, catalysts, water purifiers, and new building materials.
