Material Introduction:
Teflon FEP and Teflon PFA are essentially similar materials, but Teflon PFA has better high-temperature resistance than Teflon FEP.
Applicable Temperature Range:
Teflon FEP shell: -60℃~205℃, can be used at high temperatures up to 260℃ for short periods.
Teflon PFA shell: -60℃~260℃, can be used at high temperatures up to 300℃ for short periods.
Solid Chem-Ring seals are widely used in both static and dynamic sealing applications. Hollow silicone rubber Chem-Ring seals generally have a larger wire diameter and are used in static sealing, with lower hardness and compression resistance compared to solid Chem-Ring seals.
Hardness Introduction:
The average hardness of Chem-Ring seals made from different materials is:
Solid silicone rubber: 85-90
Solid Viton rubber: 90-95
Hollow silicone rubber: 75-80
Installation Instructions for Coated Rings:
1. The area where the Chem-Ring seal is installed or passed through must be smooth, free of burrs, grooves, and sharp edges. The surface finish of the inner hole should be 20 microinches, and the shaft finish should be 10 microinches.
2. Lubricate the surface of the Chem-Ring seal and the relevant contact areas with clean light oil or grease.
3. If installing the Chem-Ring seal on a shaft is difficult, immerse it in hot water for a few minutes to allow it to expand. This softened and expanded O-ring is easier to install. Install the O-ring while it is warm; it will return to its original size upon cooling.
4. Do not bend the Chem-Ring O-ring too sharply, as this may cause Teflon to wrinkle and affect performance.
Required Compression for Coated Rings:
Static sealing: 15%-20%
Dynamic sealing: 10%-12%
Pneumatic sealing: 7%-8%
