Tips for Using PC Sunlight Panel Adhesive
We know that construction personnel use adhesive during the installation of PC sunlight panels, and there are many techniques for using this PC sunlight panel adhesive. If the usage techniques are not mastered proficiently, issues such as bubbles or other undesirable phenomena may occur, making the operational method crucial.
To prevent PC sunlight panels from being eroded by the adhesive and leaving difficult-to-remove marks, use adhesive tape to protect the panels. In addition, we must also consider factors such as temperature and humidity, which can affect the bonding quality. During the installation of PC sunlight panels, the following two aspects should also be given attention.
During installation, this problem may arise: The edges of the PC sunlight panels where bonding occurs may turn white. This is caused by the volatilization of the PC sunlight panel adhesive due to direct airflow. Therefore, avoid using this method to cure the adhesive as much as possible. At the same time, pay attention to the amount of adhesive used. Too little adhesive will result in weak bonding, while too much will affect aesthetics. Therefore, the amount of adhesive used must be carefully controlled.
Before installing PC sunlight panels, ensure that the surface of the panels is clean. If there is grease or dust, bubbles may form, which can be removed by cleaning. It is important to remind everyone that before the adhesive is fully cured, avoid direct and prolonged exposure of sunlight to the panels to prevent affecting their quality.

Sunlight Panel Product Characteristics:
(1) Light Transmittance: PC sunlight panels have a light transmittance of up to about 89%, comparable to glass. UV-coated panels are less prone to yellowing, fogging, or poor light transmission when exposed to sunlight. After ten years, the light transmittance loss is about 10%, while PVC loss rates reach 15–20%, and fiberglass about 12–20%.
(2) Impact Resistance: The impact strength is about 250-300 times that of ordinary glass, 30 times that of acrylic sheets of the same thickness, and 2-20 times that of tempered glass. They are known as "unbreakable glass" and "resonant steel."
(3) UV Protection: One side of the PC panel is co-extruded with an anti-UV coating, and the other side has anti-condensation treatment, combining UV resistance, heat insulation, and anti-fogging functions. It blocks UV rays from passing through, making it suitable for protecting valuable artworks and exhibits from UV damage.
(4) Lightweight: The specific gravity is about half that of glass, reducing costs for transportation, handling, installation, and support frameworks.
(5) Flame Retardancy: According to standard GB50222—95, PC sunlight panels are classified as flame-retardant, i.e., B1 grade. The self-ignition point of PC panels is about 580°C, and they self-extinguish after being removed from the flame. They do not produce toxic gases when burning and do not contribute to the spread of fire.
(6) Bendability: Can be cold-bent on-site according to design drawings to form arches, semi-circular roofs, and windows. The bending radius is about 175 times the panel thickness, and they can also be heat-bent.
(7) Sound Insulation: PC sunlight panels have significant sound insulation effects, offering better acoustic insulation than glass and acrylic sheets of the same thickness. Under the same thickness conditions, the sound insulation of PC sunlight panels is about 5–9 dB higher than that of glass. They are the material of choice for highway sound barriers.
(8) Energy Efficiency: Cool in summer and warm in winter, PC sunlight panels have a lower thermal conductivity (K-value) than ordinary glass and other plastics. The heat insulation effect is about 7–25% higher than that of glass of the same thickness, with PC sunlight panels achieving up to about 49% heat insulation. This significantly reduces heat loss, making them suitable for buildings with heating systems.
(9) Temperature Adaptability: PC panels do not become brittle at -40°C and do not deform at 125°C. Their mechanical and physical properties remain largely unchanged even in harsh environments.
(10) Weather Resistance: PC sunlight panels can maintain the stability of various physical indicators within a range of about -40°C to 120°C. After 4000 hours of artificial weathering tests, the yellowing degree is 2, and the light transmittance reduction is about 0.6%.
(11) Anti-Condensation: When the outdoor temperature is 0°C and the indoor temperature is 23°C, with indoor relative humidity below about 80%, the inner surface of the material does not condense. Condensation will flow along the surface of the panel and will not drip.
