The structure of the ventilation skylight is relatively simple, mainly consisting of two parts: one is the skylight frame (also called the gutter), and the other is the glass panel (also called the deflector or louver). The skylight frame is made of thin metal sheets, with a thickness generally around 2mm and a width of 400~600mm;
The ventilation skylight utilizes the air convection caused by natural wind and indoor temperature differences to drive the turbine rotation, thereby using centrifugal force and negative pressure effects to expel stale indoor air and allow fresh air to enter without backflow, automatically circulating 365 days a year.
With increasingly stringent environmental requirements, direct exhaust skylights are no longer recognized or accepted by environmental protection departments. This necessitates continuous technological innovation in products to meet practical needs. Skylights that achieve dust absorption and purification through carbon adsorption before emission are the future mainstream trend. It is believed that future skylights will be more intelligent and environmentally friendly.
After the ventilation skylight materials are hoisted to the roof, to prevent the roof panels and beams from collapsing or deforming, the skylight materials should be distributed promptly. First, move the main frame of the skylight to the skylight base, with one main frame every three meters. Skylight tie rods, rain shields, flashing plates, ridge tiles, water collection troughs, downpipes, and raft slabs should be distributed and placed at specified intervals. In windy weather, fixed measures should be taken to prevent them from being blown off and causing injury.
Smoke exhaust skylights are divided into three types based on their external shape: straight-line type, triangular type, and arched type. Arched side-opening smoke exhaust skylights can remain open during windy and rainy weather. In contrast, straight-line and triangular smoke exhaust skylights must be closed promptly during such weather, which is determined by their structural design.
