Electrically operated ventilation skylights are based on naturally open ventilation skylights with the addition of an electric system and opening/closing flaps. When ventilation, air exchange, smoke exhaust, or dust removal are needed, the electrically operated flaps are opened. When ventilation and smoke exhaust are not required, the electric flaps remain closed to prevent air convection between indoors and outdoors.
Ventilation skylights are commonly used ventilation and lighting equipment in steel structure workshops and reinforced concrete buildings. They feature efficient natural ventilation, no electricity consumption, energy savings, and environmental protection. The primary reasons ventilation skylights can achieve air exchange and meet building ventilation needs are wind pressure difference and thermal pressure difference.
