Product Synthesis and Process: FT-1 is derived from asphalt-based materials through chemical treatments such as sulfonation and emulsification. It is an anionic polymer with a molecular structure of C-C and C-S bonds, which have relatively strong bond energy, resulting in high temperature resistance.
Product Performance and Quality Indicators: Its base material is petroleum asphalt. Appearance is brown brittle flakes or free-flowing powder. Density is 0.98 g/cm³. The product contains a high proportion of water-soluble components and certain oil-soluble components, exhibiting excellent emulsifying properties. Suitable for various drilling fluid systems.
Application: Due to the presence of sulfonic acid groups in sulfonated asphalt, it has strong hydration properties. When adsorbed on shale interfaces, it prevents the hydration and dispersion of shale particles, providing anti-collapse effects. Simultaneously, the water-insoluble portion can plug pores and fractures, serving as a leak-stopping agent, and can coat shale interfaces to improve mud cake quality.

Sulfonated asphalt also functions as a lubricant and reduces high-temperature high-pressure filtration loss in drilling fluids,

2. Lubrication and friction reduction, reducing the lifting capacity and torque of drilling tools, extending drill bit life, preventing and resolving stuck pipe incidents;

3. Forms a thin and tough mud cake to strengthen the wellbore. Controls high-temperature fluid loss;

4. Controls the high-temperature shear strength of mud;

5. Can be used in combination with other mud treatment agents.
