Plant-based gum for oilfield drilling aids stabilizes well walls, carries drill cuttings, and is pollution-free.

Composition: Made from a variety of wild plants through slicing, drying, crushing, and winnowing.

Characteristics: Appears as a light yellow, free-flowing powder that forms a highly viscoelastic fluid upon contact with water.

Main Properties:

Water Solubility: Plant gum is insoluble in any organic solvents such as ethanol, glycerol, or formamide; water is the only solvent for plant gum. Viscosity: Plant gum swells and hydrates upon contact with water to form a high-viscosity sol solution. Its viscosity increases significantly with higher powder concentration. Plant gum solution is a non-Newtonian fluid, with viscosity decreasing as shear rate increases. Salt Tolerance: Due to its non-ionic nature, plant gum solution is generally unaffected by anions or cations and does not experience salting-out. Gel Formation: Hydrated plant gum can cross-link with various chemical reagents such as borax and dichromate to form a non-Newtonian water-based gel with certain viscoelasticity. The viscosity of this gel is tens to hundreds of times higher than that of the gum solution.

Main Applications:

① Exhibits excellent rheological properties, contributing to wellbore stability and effective drill cuttings transport, significantly improving drilling speed and reducing drill tool wear;

② Provides effective plugging for permeable formations such as fractured strata and sandstone layers;

Packaging and Storage: Double-layer packaging with inner plastic and outer woven bags, 25kg/bag. Store in a well-ventilated, dry warehouse. Pallets should be placed on isolation racks at least 20cm above the ground, with stacking height not exceeding 10 bags. Shelf life is 6 months.
