Lingxiao

Campsis, also known as purple weed, five-clawed dragon, red flower inverted water lily, tree-climbing dragon, tree-climbing centipede, white dog intestine, wall-hanging flower, abortion flower, water caltrop flower, vine flower. A deciduous climbing vine with a woody stem, exfoliating bark, and a withered brown color, it attaches to other objects via aerial roots. Leaves are opposite, odd-pinnately compound, with a terminal loose short panicle. The calyx is bell-shaped, the corolla is bright red inside and orange-yellow outside. Stamens are attached near the base of the corolla tube, with linear, slender filaments. Anthers are yellow, arranged in a T-shape. The style is linear, and the stigma is flat. The capsule has a blunt apex. Flowering period is from May to August.
